Summary: I will not bring my dog here again due to inadequate follow-up medical care which I believe led to a serious infection as well as very poor follow-up from corporate staff. That being said, the emergency staff did well by us in a true emergency. I would not recommend bringing your pet here unless you have a true, time-sensitive emergency and this is the closest facility. I would recommend going elsewhere if you can, and avoiding follow-up care here. Long Version: I brought my dog, Wilbur, to Blue Pearl in August after he was hit by a car. The emergency staff responded quickly to make sure he was stable and then to care for wounds on his back legs. From what I experienced, their emergency care was good. But the follow up care and support from administration was seriously lacking. The BP doctors thought Wilbur may need surgery to repair damage to his back leg. Since BP was familiar with his case, I decided to do follow up with their surgery team. The consult with the surgery team was seriously lacking. I paid more than $200 for the consult, and they told me they had done the exam the day before when Wilbur was in for a bandage change. In that exam, they found his leg was too swollen to know if he needed surgery, so they said I needed to come back again the following week. They did not change his bandage at the consult, and instead recommended waiting a week between bandage changes until his next follow up. Two days later, Wilbur’s leg was horribly infected and I brought him to his primary vet for follow up care. I believe Blue Pearl provided inadequate care and a poor treatment plan which directly led to the infection. I haven’t brought Wilbur back to Blue Pearl since then, because I no longer trust their care. In September, I started a conversation with Blue Pearl seeking a review of the services they provided Wilbur. I emailed the Blue Pearl corporate team and requested a review. Since September, I’ve been bounced around to several different employees. They ignore my emails for weeks at a time, and their responses are evasive. It feels like they are putting me off with the hopes I will lose energy and drop the issue. At this point, it’s been nearly five months of contacting them and they have not filled my request for a medical review or even provided a clear timeline for doing so. I would not bring my dog here due to the medical care, and the response from their corporate staff has only cemented my distrust for the organization.

We had an excellent first experience with Blue Pearl. We took our 3 year old dog in after he ate a rag while out on a walk. We were kindly and efficiently greeted when we arrived. The paperwork was easy to fill out. I observed the same kindness shown to everyone who came and went while we were waiting. The vet tech and the doctor were clear on explaining what they were going to do, what they did, and what we should watch for after we left. It was a very positive experience!

I'm not one to ever leave a review but I can't let this one go. About a month ago we brought our French bulldog puppy in because she was showing signs of parvo. I had been out of work for some time and was in Renton for orientation for my new job so money was non existent. We looked up some vets in the area and thought we had found one that actually cared about the animals when we found this place. Boy was I wrong!! Now I understand that it's not their fault that our puppy had signs of parvo, or that I had been out of work and didn't have any money, but for a vet to not only turn a sick puppy away because we didn't have $380, and to do it the way they did was just wrong. They didn't even go into the exam room to tell us they wouldn't help because of money, they literally slid a note under the door with phone numbers of vets offices that might help and made us leave out of the back door. Well we finally found a vet that would help us, but unfortunately it was two days later and two days too late. She died in my arms on the way to the vet that would help us. Like I said, it's my fault for not checking her vaccine records when she was given to us, it's my fault for accepting a dog when I had no money, I'm not playing the victim or the blame game! I just wish they cared more about helping animals (when they know it's life threatening) and less about money and our little loca would still be alive and whatever amount of money I owed them would already be paid now that I started my new job.

I’ve taken my senior 12 year old poodle mix to Blue Pearl Tukwila about once a month for the last 5 months for various age related health concerns. The facility appears to be clean and well maintained and the front desk staff are very knowledgeable, compassionate and calm, even when stress levels are high with a sick pet. The doctors I have spoken with are all very thorough and this is exactly what I want for my dog. Even though the ER vet can be a stressful place, this location is where I plan to bring my boy in any emergency.

I brought my 16yo cat in at 1am Saturday morning,he was very sick and we pretty well knew that he was passing away. In my grief I did not get the vets name but we did get Roman's. Both the vet and Roman were exceptional. They were attentive,calming,patient,and informative. They handled Howie with respect,swaddled,cleaned,and helped us help him pass in a very peaceful and loving way.Thankyou to you both,I will always remember both of you as part of our experience.
