We made a routine appointment for our cat online and were immediately taken to an examination room once we arrived. Service was fast and the care team did a great job making sure our cat felt as relaxed as possible under the circumstances.

My cat has been going to Urban animal for a few years now. I made an appointment a couple weeks before the actual appointment for a possible granuloma on his lip. Of course I want to take him in to ensure that this wasn't anything besides that. I work 10 hour shifts, and completely forgot that my cat would most likely need gabapentin prior to his visit. It is difficult for me to find any time to do things like this, so I made my appointment during a lunch hour to ensure I could get my cat seen. He usually goes to the Capitol Hill location, but the downtown location was the only one that had a sooner visit. I called the same day of my cat's appointment to see if I could reschedule to the next day.... Because I completely forgot that he would need gabapentin. Again I work 10 hour shifts.... And it can be impossible to find these times. I completely understand the deposit, rescheduling, or no show policies. I used to work in animal emergency. To ensure employee safety.... I really wanted to make sure that precautions were taken prior to his visit. The response I received to reschedule was completely ridiculous. " Nope. Sorry.". The man on the phone wasn't all that nice either. He told me there's nothing he could do.... And that they would keep my deposit, and could not reschedule me. I admitted that this was a mishap on my part, that I work 10-hour shifts, but most importantly I was worried about HIS EMPLOYEED SAFETY! And I did not feel comfortable bringing my cat in without gabapentin. " Well you can come in and pick some up prior to his visit?" This was the response I got after telling him that I work 10-hour shifts. And it's nearly impossible to do this. I apologized and admitted that this was my fault. No budging from Urban Animal. None. So the outcome. 1. You have my $100 and AI want a refund. 2. It's been weeks since I sent an email about this. 3. My cat wasn't seen for a possible cancerous lump on his lip. 4. Not everyone has $100 to just lose. Moral of the story is..... I switched vets, and I do not belive the reply I received when I let him know that " they don't seem to care much about animals with the amount of effort that was put into the " No sorry". He said, " yes we do care about animals. Hmmmmmmm....🤷‍♀️. I wrote an email about this weeks ago to Urban animal, haven't heard back. I would love my refund. I work really hard...... And all I wanted was for my cat to be seen for a scary lump on his lip There has got to be a better way to deal with situations like this. - chelsea

BEWARE, They tried to take advantage of me because of having a pet who needed ( what turned out to be, minor care, after hours when they know you haven’t many options. The egregious agreement that they insist you signed before even looking at your dog includes crazy charges that if your dog needs cpr while working on them, that will be a guzzillion dollars, thousands for every breath and step they take. I wish I had a copy of the paperwork. I felt sick reading it and had a really hard time with the thought of these people touching my dog. You have to sign off to thousands of dollars of work that may come up and that they see potentially needed. My vet charged me $65 for what they said was close to $2000 treatment. That is a 2976.92% increase. I agree with the review that they are salespeople disguised as vets. And for the review that says their cat was comfortable, it ought to have been, when you pay more than a human’s overnight hospital stay. It’s painfully disappointing, in liberal city, to have a business that seems to use a billionaires business model, to stick it to average income individuals. It felt criminal and I walked out. I’d be ashamed if I had to work here. I just took some time to read more reviews. I was shocked to read a response from this Vet that was a lie. There’s a woman who Gave them one star and had very bad treatment for her dog who had an ear infection. She said that they had convinced her to get several vaccines that her dog had had the previous year. The response from the veterinarian’s office right online for everyone to see was a complete and utter lie. They said that the vaccines that her dog needed, were state mandated vaccines. There are no yearly state mandated vaccines in Washington. The only vaccine that is needed by law. Every three years is the rabies vaccine. I’ll put a link so you can read the code for that. The only exception is to a puppy who needs a booster. The reviewer‘s dog was not a puppy. so there’s a whole red flag a reason not to go to this place. Trying to discredit a review by telling a lie it’s not a place I wanna bring my pet. Any good reviews you have seen about a comfortable lobby, that’s probably paid for by the money they rob from clients for unnecessary vaccines and tests. I am not looking for a response from you, Mollyrose Dumm, client relations. Please do not respond to this with your lies and PR responses. Anything you say I will not believe because I’ve seen how you responded to other reviewers who were previous customers to make yourself look legitimate and good. Blaming an email getting lost in spam, is like saying, “A dog ate my homework.”

My dog, Daisy, and I had a great first visit to Urban Animal. She is very anxious at the vet and every staff member was friendly, calm, and professional. The office is new and modern with lots of friendly touches like a comfortable waiting room (complete with dog bed) and a welcome screen in the exam room with my pet's name. Megan, the vet assistant, and Dr. Stilin took their time and listened carefully to everything I shared about Daisy and her health. They addressed all of my questions and I received very thorough notes via email after my visit so I had a record of their recommendations (and everything we discussed). Thank you, Urban Animal, for such thoughtful care!

High pressure sales people disguised as vets. I had to go to another vet to really realize just how bad it was. My cat is a candidate for dental surgery. The cost is over 2 grand, which is pretty standard. They did not ask whether it was affecting his behaviour, whether he was eating less or poorly grooming or look at any other factors. Instead it was a guilt trip of why aren’t you doing it. Now the best part, is I emailed them to schedule and they didn’t reply for a couple months. When they did they were so booked up they weren’t even taking appointments. Simply awful vet - avoid.
