I really should have written a review months ago! But better late than never! The emergency team at Old Growth are amazing! We were first sent to this clinic back in July when my 13 yr old standard poodle, Aria BLOATED. We had gone to a big emergency clinic down the street from us and the didn’t have a surgeon on staff?? WHAT? I thought at that moment my girl was going to die and not because I didn’t act fast but because I didn’t have immediate access to a surgeon. They immediately jumped into action though, did what they could to make her comfortable and buy us time while making calls to find a surgeon who could take us. And that was how we found Old Growth! They were amazing! And when we arrived, they were ready for us and ultimately, saved my girls life. They were comforting and compassionate through the whole experience which made me feel more comfortable leaving my girls fate in Dr Lee’s hands. My review doesn’t stop there. This experience made me decide that any emergency my dogs have, unless they are actively Dying and I have no choice but to make it to the clinic 11 minutes away, I will always drive the extra 17 minutes to Old Growth. Unfortunately, I had to a few times after bloat incident. Another one of my Girls developed ITP, hospitalized for 5 days..again.. AMAZING care. And 3 weeks after that, my 13 yr old had a stroke, then aspiration pneumonia and had to be hospitalized for 3 days. Every experience we have had was met with kindness and compassion from every single receptionist, vet tech and veterinarian. I recommend Old Growth to every pet owner I know. I have a wonderful regular vet who is 5 minutes away from me, and I’m super grateful for her and her staff too, but it’s really comforting to have found an emergency clinic where I feel I can trust just as much as my vet, because you know, my dogs like to have emergencies during non-business hours lol. And if any of the staff read this and recognize who we are, just want you to know that both Aria and Rosalia are doing amazing! Aria’s MRI showed no signs of masses and she’s been doing PT, acupuncture and laser therapy and has 98% of her mobility back (just a little stiffness on left side) (I have included some recent photos of both girls)

We were waiting for an appointment with a specialist when our dog suddenly took a serious turn and needed emergency care. Old Growth stepped in immediately. From the first phone call, the staff guided us with compassion and urgency, and the veterinary team quickly began diagnostics and treatment. Our dog required a four-day hospitalization, and during an incredibly emotional and stressful time, the vets remained caring, honest, and hopeful. We received regular text updates and photos and were welcomed to visit daily, which meant everything to us. They truly saved our dog’s life, treated us with kindness, were transparent and mindful about costs, and helped us navigate payment options. We are beyond grateful and would recommend Old Growth without hesitation.

I’m going to start by saying this is a very honest clinic for pets. They did amazing from the time I called, walked in, examined and gave me the treatment plan. The doctor was extremely knowledgeable and did amazing. She gave me options but said she didn’t think it was anything we had to do. She felt like rest and meds was a good start and see how things go. I really was impressed all around. Most places tell you that you need things that you really don’t just to make money. They were patient and caring. They really helped give me relief and my dog is doing so much better and it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet. Thank you to all the hard workers helping our pets and our families. Times are hard and money is tight. I recommend anyone to go there. It was worth the drive for me. Alex says thank you 😊

I drove all the way from Seattle to Old Growth to get urgent care for my cat, by the recommendation of a vet tech at Arrow UC in Renton who spoke very highly of their facility and staff. I ended up having to choose to have Callie euthanized, and the entire team was compassionate, professional, and expertly informative during the entire process. The veterinarian was very patient and helpful during my decision process, and made sure I fully understood every step that was being taken. Their facility was busy and I'm sure they had a bazillion things to do and patients to take care of, but everyone made me feel like we were a top priority. We were given a private, comfy room to have our last moments in. I appreciate that not just my cat received care, which I don't doubt was excellent and respectful behind the scenes, but I did as well. I went through the same process with another pet at Urban Animal in the past, and the experience was awful compared to Old Growth. I also appreciate that Old Growth makes their services relatively affordable so that care can be accessible. It's a shame I had to drive an hour from home just to be able to afford care for my pet, but I'm so grateful they were an option and that this is where we ended up. All in all, I will definitely recommend and choose this facility in the future. Please be kind to your veterinarians, vet techs, and their support staff - especially those in urgent/emergency care - as they work so, so hard for our animals and endure unimaginable stress. In the unfortunate event you need to be at the emergency vet, this is the place to go. The staff is exceptional. Cool, calm & collected in the chaos of a pet owner being very emotional. They set realistic expectations about wait times after an initial triage with my dog and encourage you to get a recheck if needed while you wait. My little dog unfortunately had some big problems and I let them know my budget to work with and they worked within that. Just exceptional care. At one point while I was in the lobby there was a line of people out the door waiting to check in, the front staff did not rush anyone in line or show any signs of being overwhelmed while she patiently worked through each patient one at a time. As someone who works in human healthcare and has worked in an emergency room, I cannot stop thinking about how great they were. My little guy has a long road ahead of him but he’s feeling better and on the road to recovery thanks to this exceptional staff.
