I have an older rescue, by the name of Shaggy, who also goes by Mr. Boombastic. Shags is a Lhasa apso/Shih Tzu mix and has a bad back. We are so incredibly blessed to have come across Allure, and even more blessed to have found our way to Dr. Castaneda. It became evident quite quickly that she would treat Shaggy as if he was one of her own 4 legged friends. She was his normal veterinarian as well as his acupuncturist, and ensured Shags is living his healthiest life. We are moving out of state, but if we could pack up Dr. Castaneda to take with us, we certainly would! I do not hesitate recommending her to trust with your 4 legged friends. There is no one better!

Got recommended by my coworkers to bring my fur baby here. I called and was able to drop him off (same day!) in the morning for the examination/treatment. I was called back by the Dr to discuss the situation/treatment as well pricing. The staff were all very friendly, I definitely felt like I was being treated kindly as a new patient. My only downside is that they’re located on the other side of town for me. But overall service is 5/5! *my fur baby got a nasty abscess*

AMAZING!!!! I love this hospital!!! While my heart breaks and goes out to all of the reviews of this place that mention end-of-life care, I am fortunate enough that my visit was for something much more light-hearted. My Wallace - a long-haired orange boy - got a big huge 💩 stuck in his fur today and after trying for two hours(!) by myself I knew I needed vet care. His primary care closed right after we found his.. issue.. and wouldn't reopen till Monday so I knew if I wanted to get this done today I needed to go to an urgent care. Getting him in the crate was an awful task and took three tries. We called ahead and when I announced what we were there for, they knew exactly what was going on and took us right into an exam room. Y'all. They took him back, got him all cleaned up and shaved and checked over and back into the exam room BEFORE I FINISHED MY PAPERWORK. I just know if I waited till Monday it would have just gotten more matted and I am SO grateful we decided to go here. After two hours of traumatizing my poor fraidy-cat .. cat .. they handled it in a minute, two minutes tops. The vet techs are all delightful and I hope all of them always have nice cool pillows and their socks never get wet. I hope every vet that works here never gets a flat tire. I hope the receptionists and literally everyone else that is employed here never get their sleeves caught on random doorknobs or ever stub their toes ever again. I know for a FACT that if I EVER need emergency (or even just urgent) care for either of my two cats ever again, I am coming to Allure. THANK YOU! I know it's a minor thing compared to everyone else's reviews and what y'all regularly deal with as an ER, but it meant the WORLD to me!!

i had to rush my rescue German Shepherd on Thursday evening 3/5/2026 to Allure due to a snake bite on his face. I will say this one thing that stands out from my entrance through the front door to the day I picked him up to bring him home. These people are the nicest kindest and most compassionate people I have to meet yet in the Emergency Animal Medical field. I was anxious about my dog as he is a family member to me. But the young man who was working that night with the dark beard, and I am sorry I forgot his name, was just wonderful and reassuring to me. The doctor herself then came in to talk to us was very kind and reassuring. She explained everything in great detail. She was such a blessing. I had to leave my boy overnight due to the care that was necessary for him, but the kind young man assured me that he and and another tech would be there all night to take care of the dogs there that needed medical attention. I picked my boy up the next day and received a folder of all of the treatment my boy had plus instructions necessary medicine he needed to take. A dear friend of mine was telling that both he and his mother had taken dogs to Allure and were very happy with the treatment and the wonderful staff. Yes they are not cheap but they are worth every penny in my humble opinion. Thank you Allure, all of you for taking such great care of my boy. You are amazing! God Bless you.

I am extremely disappointed with the way we were treated during our recent emergency visit. We brought our 4-month-old kitten in after she ingested our dog’s medication, as everything we read advised us to seek immediate veterinary care. The veterinary technician was kind and completed her vitals and initial assessment, but our experience changed significantly once the veterinarian spoke with us. We were told that our only options were to hospitalize her for intensive treatment at a cost of approximately $2,000 every 12 hours or to humanely euthanize her. The veterinarian stated that there was “almost no chance” she would survive without treatment. As expected, this was devastating news for my girlfriend and me. Unfortunately, we were not financially capable of covering such extensive emergency costs, and we were unable to qualify for the available payment plans. Rather than feeling supported while trying to process an impossible situation, we felt judged and guilted for not being able to afford treatment. The way the conversation was handled made us feel as though we were being portrayed as uncaring owners, despite the fact that we brought our kitten in immediately and were desperately trying to do what was best for her within our financial limitations. When we asked about possible alternatives or less intensive treatment options, we were repeatedly told they were “not recommended,” but no additional options were actually explained to us until after nearly an hour of pushing for answers. It felt as though there was little willingness to discuss any middle ground or help us fully understand all possible paths forward before pressuring us toward only the most expensive treatment or euthanasia. When we asked if we could bring her home so she could at least be surrounded by family and comfort, we again felt met with judgment instead of compassion. Multiple staff members repeatedly told us that if we took her home, she would not survive. While we understood the seriousness of the situation, the repeated comments made an already heartbreaking experience feel even more painful and emotionally overwhelming. I understand that veterinary professionals have difficult jobs and must communicate serious medical realities. However, compassion and empathy are equally important during moments like these. I hope this clinic, and especially the veterinarian involved in our visit, reflects on how they communicate with families facing emotional and financial hardship. A more compassionate and understanding approach would have made a very difficult situation far less traumatic. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that, despite being repeatedly told our kitten would almost certainly not survive if we brought her home, she is alive, recovering, and doing well. While we understand the need to prepare pet owners for worst-case scenarios, the absolute and guilt-driven way the situation was communicated caused unnecessary emotional distress during an already devastating moment. If you take your pet here expect the staff to be rude and abrasive during devastating times. P.S. our cat is alive and thriving. Update: in response to the vets reply. Im not saying your medical advice was wrong or untrue. Yes it was true she was probably going to die. Yes the best medical plan would be to give her the care for the chance to live and if we chose to leave it was against medical advice. What I was saying is that we felt JUDGED and PRESSURED into doing something we couldn’t afford. Your staff made us feel like we were horrible owners for not being able to afford it and horrible people for wanting to take her home so she could be with her brother in her last moments. My one star rating isn’t about your medical opinion it was for how we were treated by your staff and how judged we felt for trying to figure out the right decision.
