Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital (REVH) is a privately owned, state-of-the-art emergency veterinary hospital located in Windham, New Hampshire. It is open and fully staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing emergency medical and surgical care for cats, dogs, and exotic pets. REVH is a VECCS Certified Facility and offers digital radiography, in-house laboratory and pharmacy services, anesthesia, emergency surgery, and computerized medical records.

Established in 2009, REVH expanded to 24/7 emergency, critical care, and urgent care in 2010. It is not affiliated with any general practice but communicates closely with primary veterinarians and provides referrals to veterinary specialty hospitals. REVH serves the local area, including towns in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Dr. Christina Barnett is a founding member and owner of REVH, who received her Veterinary degree from Texas A&M University in 2001 and completed a small animal veterinary internship at Ontario Veterinary College in 2002.

I had just recently received my puppy from transport and brought him to his new regular vet, where we discovered that he had bilateral pneumonia. He was then transferred to Rockingham Emergency and admitted for two days. The staff and doctors were incredibly supportive, and I genuinely felt like they truly cared about him. Because he was in isolation, they constantly monitored him on camera and made sure he had the food, water, medication, and attention he needed to start getting better. They also provided updates exactly when they said they would, which gave me a lot of peace of mind during a very stressful situation. I always felt confident that he was receiving excellent care. As you can imagine, a two-day emergency hospital stay can be expected to be very expensive. I was actually surprised when I received a refund at the end of his stay. That really showed me that they are honest and transparent about both their care and their pricing, which I truly appreciated. I’m very grateful to the entire team for helping my puppy recover.

I can not find wirds to describe how greatful with not only the vets but vet techs, reception, welcoming desk, everyone i come across on this building. They are so supportive ,gentle,they have the empathy to relate with our emotions and feelings. Our 4 month old Cairn Terrier Teddie was very sick so we brought him to Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital. They diagnosed him with Parvovirus which is a very serious life threatening condition. Dr Sara Braswell gave us all the necessary medications, supplies and instructions to treat Teddie. Thankfully Teddie has made a full recovery. Thank you to Dr Sara Braswell and the entire staff for saving Teddie’s life.

💕 Compassionate Care Through the Scariest Moments 💕 Words cannot express just how wonderful the team at Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital is. My 7-year-old dog, Rajah (a mixed-breed rescue) suddenly developed hives in under 90 minutes one evening, with no prior history of them. I called Rockingham, and they advised me to bring her in right away. When we arrived, she was assessed quickly. Once they determined she was stable, she waited with us in the lobby while the doctor developed a plan. The CVTs administered her medication, explained how to monitor her at home, and made sure we felt confident in what to expect. Only two days later, Rajah woke up during the night with diarrhea. The next morning, after she vomited less than a minute after drinking water, we went straight back to Rockingham. Rajah ended up being hospitalized for 48 hours. Not only did the team provide excellent medical care, but they also did a phenomenal job of keeping me updated through phone calls and text messages. Over those two days, Rajah was cared for by more than ten members of the staff, from CVTs to veterinarians. Despite so many people being involved, her care was seamless. Everyone we spoke with knew her condition, her treatment plan, and even the little things that helped keep her calm and comfortable. Just last night, Rajah had another concerning episode. I called REVH right away to ask whether we should come in. The CVT I spoke with had actually worked with Rajah two weeks earlier during her hives episode. They put me on a brief hold to review her records and consult the doctor, then offered great advice for monitoring her at home, which meant we didn’t have to rush in unnecessarily. Thankfully, Rajah slept through the night, and we’re continuing to follow their recommendations carefully. It’s worth noting that there’s another “emergency” veterinary hospital just a mile from our home, but its reputation is horrendous. We will gladly continue to drive 20–30 minutes to Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital whenever Rajah needs care. Not only are they highly skilled medically, but they are also genuinely compassionate, toward both their patients and their patients’ people. I wish I could thank every staff member by name, but so many were involved and I know I would miss someone. That being said, EVERY person we interacted with was fantastic. If you ever need emergency care for your pet, don’t think twice. Go to Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital. Loving Kindness

This place overdosed my dog with methadone and gave him no option for reversal! I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this hospital to anyone who seeks thoughtful and competent emergency care. They made my dog so much worse and gave him 2mg over the highest suggested absolute dose of an opioid via IV! That was way too much for his nervous system and i am so appalled. He could barely walk and they kept making him. The moment I saw him in distress I immediately got anxious and said something is wrong - we need help! And all they did was give me a panic button. They call me melodramatic but I am autistic - I explained my anxiety to them and how we needed help and they just said he is a sensitive dog and that he was just being a big baby. It was so dismissive to both of us with zero empathy of compassion. The main reason i am so upset is because the assistant who was coming out to grab my dog from my car has seen him before and told the other assistant that my dog was a big baby and makes noise for nothing. How about looking into his history and seeing that he was an abused street dog in texas who had been beaten up by multiple humans by the age of 1. He is special needs and they treated him like his behavior was an annoyance. I was not able to bring him In immediately after his accident because I had to wait for my paycheck to afford his care because this place wont treat any animal unless you have money. I spent $1200 for absolutely nothing that we actually needed and I couldn’t put food on the table to make up for their greed. Maybe I’m also anxious because I care for my dying grandmother who has end stage liver disease and a bed ridden disabled mother… another reason why I had to wait to bring him in because my money is funneled into their care too! I brought my dog here in a moment of deep need, and what he received was not care, but harm. Even if it wasn’t intended - it’s still malpractice. He is a rescue, carrying the scars of past abuse, and above all he needed patience, gentleness, and compassion. Instead, his anxiety was was met with shortness, dismissiveness, and even ridicule - called “noisy” when his fear was really a cry for safety during an episode of intense dysphoria. For hours, he hyperventilated in distress - his suffering amplified, not relieved at all. The weight of this stress on his body was far greater than the pain he had been brought in for. I pleaded for help, but was met with coldness, as though my dog’s life, and my voice, did not matter. He was sent home with medications he did not need, and at incorrect dosages. My trusted veterinarian confirmed this the next day - after I spent an additional $400 for proper care, on top of the $1200 already wasted here. And still, this hospital told me they could not help. This was not simply poor service. It was careless, harmful, and profoundly lacking in the most basic qualities of healing - there was zero compassion. In my dog’s twelve years of life, through all our challenges, we have never known an experience as devastating as this one. Our animals deserve better. Our hearts deserve better. Shame on this place for failing so deeply in the simple duty to care.
