THANK YOU FOR SAVING MOLLY! This is the third time I’ve brought my 10 year old goldendoodle to this hospital and I trust them with everything. About a month ago Molly started projectile vomiting/diarrhea. We took her to her primary vet who gave her some anti nausea meds. By the time we got home she was shaking in pain. We went to the ED and they diagnosed her with pancreatitis/gastroenteritis and was treated and released because she was doing better. Later that night she started having foul smelling, bloody diarrhea that she couldn’t hold in and by the morning she wasn’t able to move much on her own and had a bled a lot. We brought her back and they got her right in and admitted her. Thank you to Dr Batchelder, Hyde, Wright, the incredible nurses and all staff who were very supportive. They gave us updates, sent pictures, and it was clear they were giving Molly the best care. There’s no greater gift you can give someone in such a vulnerable position than the knowing that you’re giving the best care possible. Their compassion made all the difference in our experiences. A month later Molly is finally seeming like her normal self and is enjoying longer walks. Fortunately, we have pet insurance who reimbursed us $4600 of our $5100 bill. Anyone reading this i HIGHLY encourage you to get pet insurance so you never have to choose what your pet can and can’t receive and the doctors can do their jobs. Thank you again- you have NO idea how much you mean to us. Hopefully we never have to see you again but if something comes up you will be the first place we will go.

I am so incredibly grateful for the staff for saving my little girls life. Maggie came in “knocking on deaths door” as the vet explained to us the night Maggie was admitted. We had no idea what was occurring at the time but she ended up being in anaphylaxis shock and her organs were shutting down. When we walked in, staff immediately took Maggie from us due to her severity of her declining condition. The quick and efficiency of the team truly saved her life that night. Maggie 5 weeks later is happier and healthier than ever and we are eternally grateful!!!

We brought our cat in due to some breathing issues she was having. We were there for almost 12 hours (see picture of check in time and discharge instructions time…I am unfortunately not exaggerating). They were severely understaffed it seems, as from what I could tell there was only a single vet on staff. And while I understand that is not their fault, I wish they provided better communication. After being checked in at about 6:30pm, it took an hour or so to get into triage. After triage we were in the lobby until 11pm, which at that point the girl at the desk offered us a room so our cat could stretch her legs. We did not have any contact again from anyone at all up until 1:30am. The vet tech that came in listened to her breathing and bumped her up the list. The vet did not come in the room until 3:30am. At that time our cat was taken back for testing and diagnostics, which I understand takes awhile. The vet wrapped up with us around 5:30am. I understand this is an emergency vet, and since our cat’s vitals were stable, she kept getting bumped down the list when critical emergencies came in. But hours went by without any contact, recheck, or communication. I am giving 2 stars because the vet, Erica White, was indeed great. But the rest of the experience was not great. They should have more than one vet on staff, and they shouldn’t let pet parents sit there for HOURS without communicating a single word.

Thank you so much for taking care of Lexie in her final days. She was 17 years old and had kidney disease. The staff were fantastic in taking care of her and so compassionate even in her final hours. The veterinarians were fantastic especially with me hoping for a positive outcome but knowing full well her time was limited. It was very hard for me to let go of her. If I mentioned the veterinarians by name I might miss someone so don't want to do thatm When it was time to say goodbye they brought us into a room set up like a living room with sofas and end tables. There was a mattress with blankets and a pee pad. They offered to do it on the floor, in my lap, sofa or gurney. I chose the gurney which they adjusted the height for me because I am short. As they did it I sang 3 songs to her. The idea came out of the blue as I petted her ending with God Be With You Til We Meet again. It was the most beautiful passing I have ever seen. They offered to shave some of her fur which I have. Knowing that I made the right decision because I exhausted all ways of making Lexie better I felt relief after making the decision which actually surprised me. I miss her presence but know she is in a better place. The only thing I could see that could have been done better is better discharge orders on what to expect when I got her home as she had been discharged the day before but had declining health issues over the next 24 hours. So I had to bring her back in. They think she might have had a mini stroke around the time of discharge which was not visible at the time of discharge. I let the veterinarian know about the discharge orders on Lexie's last day. Was it worth spending thousands of dollars to trying make to make Lexie better? Yes. She was my baby and as a mother I only wanted the best for her. Thank you again for everything.

Had to bring my dog in due to my vet not following through with putting meds in to the pharmacy and being closed on Sundays for glaucoma in her left eye. The whole staff at VECM was phenomenal today! They listened to what we needed, were super kind and most importantly sent us home with all the meds we needed to get through until we can get into the ophthalmologist. Katie Velez was the veterinarian and I can’t speak highly enough of how helpful she was. I am so grateful that my pet now has some relief. 10/10 would absolutely bring her back here if needed.
