Cityscape Vets on Excelsior is excellent. The vets and staff are genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Appointments are easy to get, and the online booking makes everything super convenient. We’ve been going here for the past couple of years, and they’ve consistently been wonderful—truly the best vet experience we’ve had.

I thought my sweet old lady had a stroke, so I brought her in to check things out. Instead of charging me an arm and a leg to determine what was wrong, the vet followed a hunch she had and free of charge- was able to determine that she had internal bleeding. My sweet girl had the gentlest send-off I could hope for. The staff was incredibly respectful, and that fact that they refused to charge me for the diagnosis really shows the character of the staff at Cityscape Vet. You can absolutely trust your pets with them. I can’t recommend enough.

Really impressed by Cityscapes Veterinarian. Dr. Fry was wonderful; very gentle and kind, just seemed at ease, there was no rush. Every single member of the team had a smile on their face. They all seemed happy to be there. It was truly a nice feeling. Thank you Cityscapes!!

Been a couple months now since we left this vet and our experience was awful. Our puppy was pretty sick from the get go and we chose these guys to help us out. I went here maybe 4 times, 3 with my dog and 1 with my 2 cats. The staff are friendly, however they are not well educated. One of the vet techs told me my dog has hyperpigmentation because her skin is black. Bad news guys, my dogs fur is black because she has a white coat and it’s the breed standard. She also had really runny stools for a while and they put her on a dewormer initially. When it didn’t go away, we went back and they told us she had a very rare parasitic infection that causes paralysis. Two issues with this 1) to differentiate between this deadly infection, you do a PCR sequencing of the bacteria. They didn’t do this, and the lab report they issued me stated that the scientific recommendation was to do so. This parasite they said she had is SO rare that there are almost 0 cases in the Midwest. But somehow, they jumped to this even though the more common would be far more likely! The difference between these two bacteria is SIGNIFCANT. The response that the owner gave to this is ridiculous. The other parasite my dog had, that was properly treated (after a PCR test), only required 2 weeks of medication. So, not only did they not do the “longer and more rigorous” treatment plan they suggested, they also misdiagnosed her. If it was neospora, my dog would be dead due to the horrible medical team. 2) in order to prevent paralysis and death of the dog, you need a VERY rigorous treatment plan. They gave me 10 days of medicine and told me it’ll be fine. This is not nearly enough medication. I actually had to call them and read on my own after being concerned since EVERYWHERE else says you need to do 4-6 months of HEAVY antibiotics for this. Google the neospora bacteria if you don’t believe me. Imagine my surprise hearing this and seeing my dog will likely die, and they gave me 10 days of medication. Btw, this visit cost me close to $1,000 with lab work, vet fees, and medicine. When I took my dog elsewhere, they ran the proper test and she DID NOT have this. Their vet fees are ridiculous. Every appointment I spent around $600. I ran blood work on my cats as well after they pressured me into that (another $800 visit) and the results were also alarming. A lot of stuff in the red. When I called and asked about this, they told me they were fine. I was skeptical and had my new vet read them. One of my cats has CRYSTALS and the other has a UTI. Nothing they tell you is accurate. Do NOT go here. They should not be practicing vet medicine. They do not know anything. Honestly, they should maybe close. I warn everyone about this experience. I wish I could get my $2,000 back.

Vet was 30 minutes late to our appointment. Unsure if the vet tech was feeling shy or untrained but they did not greet or acknowledge me, they just started touching and scratching my pet after walking into the room without any sort of introduction. It was odd. I’ve had good experiences at this location in the past. I’m not sure what was going on today, but it was unpleasant. Also, the smell in there was brutal. I could barely take having to be in that musty room for almost an hour due to the vet being so late to our scheduled appointment. I’ve never noticed such a horrible smell during my past visits here. Sadly, my three cats and I may have to start vet shopping again after being a client for 3 years. This place used to be great, it’s disappointing whatever changes they have made.
