We saw Dr. DeSana and a very kind LVT (I feel terrible I forget her name but will update when I find out again). They were both so wonderful. This is clearly a very professional cardiology practice, and they were so detail oriented to make our experience as easy as possible. Dr. DeSana and our LVT were incredibly kind, friendly, and compassionate, and great with the dogs. Dr. DeSana explained things in detail, in a very easy to understand way, and gave us as much time as we needed to ask questions, and never once made us feel rushed. I really, really appreciated that, because when you need a cardiologist, it's likely there is going to be some things that are hard to understand, and hard to hear, so having the time to talk it through with her without feeling any kind of rush was so nice. Our LVT even reminded us if we had questions later, that's totally okay and we can email (I hope she doesn't regret that after our many-questioned email of things we thought of later haha!) They got all our meds figured out and carefully explained them, what we needed to do, and for the one that needed a special compounding pharmacy, they already had some on hand for us so we didn't have to wait to start them, and contacted the compounding pharmacy that day to get it started so it will be sent to us before we run out. The discharge instructions carefully re-explained the diagnosis in layperson terms, which was so nice because sometimes that stuff can be kind of whirlwind. Thank you VCC, to Dr. DeSana, and to our wonderful LVT for all of your help! We really appreciate you! Overall our experience was that VCC is very professional, compassionate, and incredibly detail oriented to make things as easy on owners and pets as possible. I would remind new clients though to make sure you confirm your appointment! I felt bad, I don't usually read confirmation texts, but realized after I confirmed that I had actually confirmed a little after the deadline they had requested I confirm by. So don't be like me, read your confirmation message and confirm with them by the deadline! They also call to confirm so then I called them back and confirmed. I feel the price was also very reasonable- I had heard vet Cardio appointments for others (that went to a different veterinary cardiologist) were always 1k, but Wren had the consult, an ecg and an echo as well as several medications, and it still was a good bit less than that. Thank you again VCC and Dr. DeSana, and our wonderful LVT!

After my dog Dee Dee had an emergent cardiac issue, I took him to see Dr. DeSana. The staff were very timely, calming to my pup, and friendly. Dr. DeSana was thorough in educating me about his disease process, the pending treatment plan, and the foreseeable future. I would recommend anyone who needs a cardiologist to come here!

When our French Bulldog Marshy was diagnosed with B cell lymphoma, we were suddenly thrown into a world of urgent timelines and complex decisions. A key part of her chemo plan involved Adriamycin, which required a cardiac evaluation first and time was not on our side. Veterinary Cardiology Consultants in Novi went above and beyond to make sure Marshy got what she needed. After speaking with my wife, Sarah at the front desk was able to get Marshy scheduled on very short notice, ensuring there was no interruption in her chemotherapy. That kind of responsiveness is rare, and it meant everything to us. On the day of Marshy’s echocardiogram, Courtney showed genuine care and compassion, helping soothe Marshy during a stressful time. Dr. DeSana personally relayed the results shortly after the scan - clear, professional, and kind. We were sent detailed documentation right away, which made pet insurance reimbursement simple and stress-free. This is a first-class specialist clinic. They treat you with empathy and efficiency, and they treat your pet like they matter. Thanks to them, Marshy was able to receive her Adriamycin treatment the very next day. We’ll always be grateful for their role in giving us more quality time with our girl.

Those who know me know I am not easily impressed, particularly when stressed. When it comes to my family, I have high expectations. From Sara(h) at the front desk, who got us in for an appointment right away to Dr. DeSana who cared for our 18-week-old Chihuahua with a newly diagnosed heart murmur, we felt in good hands from the start. Dr. DeSana was knowledgeable, had a great bedside manner, was personable, professional, informed, and efficient. When you need an expert in a critical moment, there's nothing better than feeling safe with the team who cares for you. I am someone who will write a poor review when its earned and feel its equally important to praise those among us who show up when you need them. We feel blessed to have found Dr. DeSana and her team to care for our family during this critical time. I only met Dr. DeSana and the technician, Katie, and they were both very kind. Sebastian's consult and echocardiogram were done quickly while still being thorough (which I appreciate because he can be a bit anxious!). I also called around to several other cardiologists and VCC is very reasonably priced. Thank you!
