I want to leave a really positive review for this GoodVets location. My dog recently had specialty surgery at another hospital, and GoodVets is his primary veterinary clinic. Unfortunately, during the post-surgery period, he developed an infection that we’ve been managing with the surgical hospital. It eventually reached a point where I was sent home with subcutaneous fluid treatments, which meant I had to administer the injections myself. As someone who becomes very anxious around medical procedures (I even faint when I have blood drawn), I was honestly very scared and overwhelmed about having to do this on my own. I reached out to GoodVets to ask if they could help, and they were incredibly kind and understanding. Without hesitation, they offered to help administer the catheter and support my dog during the next two weeks—and they are doing it at little cost. The surgical hospital is also quite far from me, and I don’t have a car, so I wasn’t able to realistically take him there for this ongoing care. GoodVets stepping in made an enormous difference in making sure he could still get the treatment he needs. I am extremely grateful for their compassion, professionalism, and willingness to step in during a stressful time. It made a huge difference for both me and my dog, and I truly appreciate the care they provide. We still have two weeks left of treatment.

This practice USED to provide excellent care, but the decline in service has been both disappointing and concerning. I recently requested a refill for my cat's prescription diet, which is medically necessary due to a severe intolerance to regular food that causes bloody diarrhea. I was initially told the refill could not be authorized because my cat had not been seen in over a year. That statement was incorrect. My cat was seen in July 2025, and the staff eventually acknowledged that fact. After that, I was told that because my cat's regular veterinarian had moved to a different location, a new veterinarian would need to see him before the prescription could be renewed. Frankly, that explanation makes little sense. The entire purpose of a veterinary practice is continuity of care. My cat's diagnosis, history, and response to treatment are thoroughly documented in his medical record by one of your own veterinarians. If a documented medical condition and treatment plan established by your own provider cannot be relied upon by another veterinarian within the same practice, what does that say about the confidence you have in your own medical records and clinicians? Are clients expected to start over every time a veterinarian changes locations? Should established diagnoses suddenly become questionable because the original veterinarian is no longer in the building? That rationale undermines the very concept of a group practice. What is most troubling is that despite being informed that interruption of this diet could result in my cat developing bloody diarrhea, there was no apparent urgency, compassion, or effort to help. The response I received felt focused on generating another office visit rather than ensuring continuity of care for a patient with a known medical condition. The front desk staff appeared completely unbothered by the situation, despite understanding the potential consequences for my cat. Meanwhile, I continue to receive marketing emails and promotions for care plans, which seem to receive more attention than the needs of actual patients. After more than four years as a loyal client, I am deeply disappointed. This experience has completely eroded my trust in this practice. I will be transferring all of my pets' care to West Loop Veterinary Care. Shame on you for treating a loyal client—and more importantly, a sick animal—this way.

GoodVets Streeterville is my new favorite place. Candy and Laura are amazing! Candy was warm and welcoming, she made my dog feel so comfortable. My baby had an ear infection and Laura was great with explaining every step I needed to take to make my dog feel better. Both Laura and Candy answered all my questions and left me fully aware of our care plan. Can’t wait to see them both again.

Mi Problema Con Todo

These people tried to pressure me to get my cat checked because she hadnt pooped IN A DAY. They said theyd do a physical exam, 2 - 3 X RAYS (??) AND 2 ENEMAS. I told them i was SURE it was constipation and wasnt sure 3 X rays to confirm it were needed but the girl over the phone insisted, saying the doctor couldnt do it without it. Oh, on top of it, i had to drop my cat off and pick her up. So, i mean, i wouldve never seen these X rays or enemas happened. Lol. They said on the low end, it'd be $579 (five HUNDRED SEVENTY NINE DOLLARS) and on the high end, it could be $687 !!!!! FOR A CONSTIPATED CAT. I was down to pay the exam just for my own peace of mind but they were trying to take me for a ride. If you go to the doctor and tell them you cant poop, youre bloated and you threw up cause youre full of unpooped poop, theyll just give you a laxative. And that was LITERALLY what i explained to them. Theyre just trying to get your money and i doubt they care about the pets. Dont expect much from a chain. I gave my cat strictly wet food, a little bit of coconut oil, and she passed stool within the day. They made it seem like it was a life or death matter and that i was a negligent owner if I didnt take them. WILD.
