My Labrador, Georgia, had 2 TPLO surgeries within 20 months with Dr Curcio. Both of them were unplanned and our family was devastated for our 7yo white lab. He performed the CCL repair, as well as meniscus removal, and treated her with utmost care. She has recovered well. The entire practice was knowledgeable, kind, and timely with all appointments. We were instructed a care plan at home and prescribed meds to ease her pain and discomfort. We were encouraged to call if any questions or concerns. It was a long road, and we felt confident her doctor was skilled and professional. They truly cared with loving hearts for our dog which started with a smile and warm greeting upon arrival, all the way to her discharge day. We highly recommend the surgeons and staff NGV.

My precious cat, Mochi, was injured by our large rescue dog back in December (they broke through all of our barriers and precautions at the time). We rushed her to a smaller vet as we had JUST relocated and he didn't do anything other than recommend NGVS and happily sent a referral for which I will ever be grateful. From the first moment, the front staff, the technicians and Dr. Oshin were compassionate, sympathetic and supportive. I was alone and overwhelmed and couldn't afford to do anything but thankfully care credit came in clutch. Mochi had surgery to repair a very complex fracture in her jaw (not a simple break). They were so wonderful, kept us informed of how she was doing. We have gone in every two weeks for checkups since and when she was scheduled to have her original acrylic piece and buttons removed, they found she had partially dislodged it so they did another simpler fix for two weeks to try and correct it. We went back for follow up and she had managed to dislodge this piece too (she's an evil genius). They decided to remove it and allow her the chance to come home and try to eat soft foods and on Tuesday we will be returning to have her feeding tube removed as she has eaten well with no struggle since we brought her home yesterday. Her personality is back (ah, the good and the pure kitty chaos mode). While the hope would be that none of our beloved pets have NEED of an emergency vet again, IF they do, I will most definitely be coming back to Dr. Oshin and his staff. I will be grateful forever. To address the high cost talks as well - this is an emergency vet so try to think of it similarly to going to see your primary vs the ER. If primary is closed, ER is where you go. And it COSTS. Difference is there is no option to pay later with an emergency vet vs the ER and that is likely down to the fact that so many will refuse to pay a medical bill, regardless of outcome, bc the expense is so hefty. We were REALLY lucky to get approval and that's on places like care credit, on folx who run out on a lifesaving care bill, on the constantly rising costs of pure existence. This is not solely on the shoulders of a provider who not only needs to make a living for themself but also to cover the expenses of the business as well as pay a living wage to everyone who works for them. I have not had any dealings with any doctor outside of Dr. Oshin so I cannot speak to anyone's struggle with another person, but Dr. Oshin will always been seen as a walking, talking, living, breathing angel of mercy to our family. Also, both of the girls who have been a reception have been absolutely wonderful and compassionate every single visit and each of the techs I came into contact with have wonderful dispositions and seem to truly love my Mochi. I am grateful for each and every one of them.

Dr. Oshin and his staff have been wonderful this last year! My dog Renny tore both his CCLs last year and Dr Oshin performed both TPLO surgeries. My boy is now able to run around and be his energetic self again. I can’t thank Dr. Oshin enough for his expertise and bringing that joy back to my dog. Thank you to his kind staff for their patience and treatment of us! I will recommend this place to anyone who is need of them.

I brought my dog to this emergency veterinary clinic for vomiting and loss of appetite. During the initial visit, diagnostics were performed and I was instructed to follow up with my regular veterinarian only if vomiting continued. My dog did not vomit again at that time, so I followed the discharge instructions as they were explained to me. When my dog’s condition later worsened, I returned seeking further help. During this visit, I was told that the veterinarian had advised next-day follow-up, which was not the guidance I received at discharge. This discrepancy was frustrating and added confusion during an already stressful situation. Additionally, when I requested that my dog’s full medical records from the earlier visit be sent to another veterinarian, only partial records were transmitted, which delayed continuity of care. Concerned about my dog’s ongoing symptoms, I sought a second opinion the same day. Another veterinarian reviewed the X-rays and quickly identified a foreign body obstruction requiring immediate surgery. During surgery, three socks were removed from my dog’s stomach and intestines along with multiple intestinal tears. I understand emergency medicine can involve uncertainty, but clearer communication, accurate documentation of discharge instructions, timely record transfer, and greater empathy toward worried pet owners would have significantly improved my experience. I am sharing this feedback so future clients can advocate effectively for their pets during urgent medical situations.

North Georgia Veterinary Specialists saved my dog’s life. Our 9½-year-old German Shepherd, Dexter, suddenly went from running on the beach this summer to being in excruciating pain, screaming just trying to stand. We brought him to NGVS on emergency intake with Dr. Curcio, the orthopedic specialist. He quickly identified a herniated disc and performed the CT scan and surgery that gave us our dog back. Dexter is not exactly the world’s easiest patient — he’s a big, stubborn shepherd who does not like to be handled — but the staff managed him with skill, care, and courage (without getting eaten). The entire team treated him with compassion and professionalism during one of the hardest moments of our lives. The surgery was a success. While he has a relatively long recovery ahead, Dexter is already 100% free of nerve pain. He’s walking, eating, wagging his tail, and genuinely looks happier than he has in months. We are profoundly grateful to Dr. Curcio and the whole NGVS team for giving us more good years with our best friend when the only other option on the table was euthanasia. They delivered hope, expertise, and real results when we needed it most.
