If you are looking for extraordinary veterinary care, Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital is truly something special. Over the last year of our golden retriever’s life, we had the privilege of working with Dr. Prink, Dr. Siewert, Dr. Ahuja, and Dr. Meola. Each of these incredible doctors played a critical role in giving our dog an additional 14 months with us, time we will forever be grateful for. When he was diagnosed with cancer, we were completely devastated. Wheat Ridge stepped in with expertise, compassion, and urgency. They not only treated his cancer, but gave us the priceless gift of another year of memories together. The entire team embodies professionalism, trust, kindness, knowledge, empathy, and respect. Doreen at the front desk is consistently warm and supportive, and Bri in internal medicine is truly an angel. The care and love she showed our dog during his hardest days meant more to us than we can ever express. We drove over 30 minutes each way for appointments because this hospital and these people are 100% worth it. We will never forget the kindness and support shown to our family at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. Thank you for everything.

I debated writing this review but I am at my wits end with this place. My Great Dane was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and I wanted to inquire with an oncologist about the newly FDA approved Laverdia CA1, made by the company Dechra specifically for lymphoma. He was a patient there last summer, a traumatizing experience I’ll get into, and I’m just trying to find access to this drug since my Dane was given a life expectancy of 1-2 months. Apparently to speak to an oncologist, he had to be seen by an oncologist in the past. Well it was a surprise to me to hear that an oncologist never looked at Eli back in July even though he was admitted for stomach cancer (diagnosed by my General vet). In fact, after I spent $9,000 the multiple vets looking him still could not tell me what was wrong with him and why he wasn’t eating or drinking. They all gave me different information, one told me he had a UTI, then when speaking to a different vet the next day he didn’t even know about a UTI. They kept recommending he stay in the hospital even though they were getting no new information but expecting me to keep financing overnights and tests that lead to nothing. He was eventually diagnosed with a heart condition (something he was tested for the first day), but there are still many unanswered questions about his bloodwork and the mysterious UTI only half his caregivers were aware of. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone seeking quality care for their pets. I am heart broken about my Danes diagnosis and called to ask for help and advice from an oncologist about a potentially life saving drug and I’m assuming they’re going to want to charge me over couple grand even for that. I feel like they care far more about money than they do about their patients.

Sunday, February 8, we had to bring our 11-week-old kitten, Nova, in because she was lethargic, vomiting, not eating or drinking, and just not herself. Prior to this, we had gone to BluePearl Lafayette, where we unfortunately had a very negative experience. We were told our only options were to put her down or hospitalize her. Putting her down was presented first, and when we asked about hospitalization, the conversation repeatedly focused on whether we could afford it. My husband and I trusted our gut and decided to take Nova somewhere else—and thank God we did. From the moment we brought her to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, we were treated with compassion and respect. The staff explained everything clearly, reassured us that Nova would make it through this, and told us no, she did not need to be put down. Yes, she needed to stay and be monitored because she’s so young, but they gave us hope. They called us back on Monday to visit her and walked us through the next steps, taking the time to explain everything thoroughly and making us feel completely comfortable with her care. The following day, we received the call that she was ready to come home—with medication and monitoring, but home nonetheless. Last night, she was finally herself again: playing, climbing all over us, curling up in my hoodie to sleep—and most importantly, she ate. Thank you, Lord, for a full belly and a healing body. Thank you to the incredible staff at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital for taking such amazing care of our baby girl and helping her heal. We are forever grateful. 🤍🐾

I can’t recommend them enough. We had to transfer care here today for my kitty to get radiation and the team sent her home with treats (the only ones she would eat) and this bandana with the sweetest notes on it. They go above and beyond and I feel so good about my kitty being there.

Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital staff and doctors are absolutely amazing. From reception to billing to vet techs to veterinarians...everyone is truly caring and very good at what they do! Which is loving animals. Jenni Bridges was simply amazing. We can not say enough in praise of her skills, love, and passion for what she does. We are forever grateful for helping our boy, Maxwell, walk again! The love and care that the entire team puts into helping the animals in our lives that mean so much to us. They are family.
