Dr. Skarie and his staff were absolutely amazing. I have never experienced this level of kindness, enthusiasm, empathy, and genuine care at a veterinary clinic before. Dr. Skarie was incredibly knowledgeable while also being practical and transparent, which immediately put us at ease. Our previous veterinary visit (at a different clinic) was deeply traumatic, at no fault of their own, they were also good, but we received the devastating news that our 16 year old dog had metastatic lung cancer with no treatment options. That experience made us understandably anxious about bringing our 8 month old kittens in, even though we expected everything to be routine given how young and healthy they are. When Dr. Skarie detected a heart murmur in one of our kittens, he handled the situation with such compassion and honesty. He was very transparent about what it could mean, potential treatment options, and what further testing might be needed. It was clear that finding this in such a young cat genuinely affected him, not in a clinical or detached way, but in a human way. He went above and beyond by providing us with cardiology resources, offering to help coordinate an echocardiogram at his clinic with a cardiologist, and even called in another vet to confirm his findings. He took the time to answer all of our questions and actively encouraged us to ask more. As first time cat owners, that meant the world to us. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone. If Dr. Skarie is the owner, I have no doubt that every member of his team reflects the same level of expertise, compassion, and care. A clinic run with this much integrity and heart is truly special.

Dr. Frint always treats me and my pets with the utmost compassion and care. I have taken all of my pets to Hess Ridge for a range of care from wellness, to surgery, to end of life. I am always met with respect, compassion, and a knowledgeable care staff. I know the recommended treatments are made with my pets best interest in mind. Most recently my cat Merry began showing concerning litter box behaviors. Dr. Frint listened to my explanation of her symptoms closely, made diagnostic recommendations, and relayed the results thoroughly. He provided treatment options and followed up with me personally to ensure the treatment was working. Thanks to Dr. Frint and team, Merry is back to her happy playful self!

I can't say enough about Dr Skarie and his staff at Hess Ridge Animal Hospital. When our Berner was struggling with cancer issues, Dr Skarie and staff went above and beyond to do everything they could. I can't say how great having peace of mind knowing he was given the best care during a difficult time. And this continues to this day with our new Berner and our sweet Great Pyrenees as well.

My husband and I have nothing but the highest praise for Hess Ridge and their incredible staff. As a military family, we move frequently and it can be overwhelming trying to find a new veterinary clinic we can truly trust with our pets. Shortly after moving to Colorado, we met Dr. Skarie and Dr. Frint at their previous clinic and loved them so much that we followed them when Hess Ridge opened. Every visit we’ve had at Hess Ridge has been exceptional. The doctors and staff have cared for our two kitties, Finn and Billie, with genuine compassion, clear communication, and an honesty that’s hard to find. Whether it’s a routine visit or an unexpected emergency, we’ve always felt heard, supported, and reassured. We trust this team wholeheartedly, and when the time comes for us to move again, we know we’ll struggle to find another veterinary clinic that measures up. Hess Ridge has become such a gift to our family, and we recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone, especially to fellow military pet parents searching for reliable, compassionate care.

When looking for a vet to take care of our new puppies I looked online at reviews and Hess Ridge Animal Hospital stood out. We had our first appointment with them and really like the staff and Dr. Frint. Our puppies also loved them. We think we have found our long term vet!
