Professional, Compassionate, and Highly Reasonable Prices! I love this clinic; it's the only one I trust with my 11-year-old cat. The team here is amazing, the prices are excellent, they are very professional, and highly responsive. When my cat was 10, he needed surgery to remove a retained testicle. Other vets either refused the procedure due to the complicated location of the testicle or warned that it would require a large, invasive incision. However, the surgeons here successfully performed the surgery despite his age! They used a small incision, charged a very reasonable price, and my cat recovered beautifully. More recently, we had a major scare where I honestly thought my cat was not going to make it. The vets immediately provided reassurance, ran lab work, took x-rays, and kept him in for monitoring. They gave us all the tools we needed to make him comfortable and encourage him to eat while we waited for the labs. He has made another beautiful recovery. Thank you so much for your expertise, professionalism, and amazing care. I highly recommend this clinic!

I had such a great experience at San Marcos Veterinary Clinic. They were able to schedule me the same day when I woke up and noticed one of my feline babies, Misty, had an eye that didn’t look right. That alone was such a relief. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly kind, calm, and welcoming. Misty felt comfortable right away — so comfortable, in fact, that she decided to climb the shelves and explore, and the staff didn’t mind at all. They were patient, friendly, and genuinely caring, which says a lot. The team was very informative, explained everything clearly, and sent us home with eye drops that worked almost immediately. Seeing how relaxed Misty was, along with how calmly other pets were waiting in the lobby, really showed how much they truly care about our fur babies. Even though it’s about a 45-minute drive for me, this will absolutely be my number one choice going forward. They also came highly recommended by a friend who has been bringing their pets here for years — and now I completely understand why. Highly recommend! 🐾💙

I went to them at the recommendation of someone who had been bringing his pet to Dr. I for over ten years! He gave him a ringing endorsement and I am so grateful he did! They are wonderful and I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else for their continued care.

Thankfully, Dr. Ichord is not only a highly skilled surgeon, but also someone who genuinely cares about animals and their families. This is a family-owned practice run by a husband-and-wife team, and you can feel the difference the moment you walk in. The staff is incredible — they know my dog by name, and he actually gets excited to go to the vet (which says a lot!). Because they’re independently owned and not part of a big corporate chain, their prices are fair and reasonable. While sitting in the lobby, you’ll meet other longtime clients who feel the same way — many of us have trusted Dr. Ichord with our pets for years. We all agree: this is the BEST vet in North County.
