My 12 year old miniature schnauzer, Tucker, had to have his spleen removed this year— due to us discovering he had a splenic mass. To say I was nervous, terrified, and completely sick to my stomach worried would be an understatement. My dog is my baby and my everything! I wanted the absolute best and safest possible surgery for him, especially given his age. However, I didn’t think I’d even be able to afford this kind of surgery, given how costly they are. I called clinic after clinic… SVSS offered so much time, care, consideration, empathy, and support— all at such a reasonable price, which included an overnight stay, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my baby would have someone to monitor him overnight. And knowing that, if God forbid, something were to have happened, there was a 24/7 ER vet next door, was all the comfort I needed. The doctors kept in constant communication with me, sent me photos and updates, and answered literally all my questions, while thoroughly explaining everything to me in simple terms when medical terms became confusing. It’s been almost 6 months since my baby’s surgery and he is THRIVING! His recovery was absolutely more than I could have ever expected. He was back to his normal self on day 2!! And I firmly believe this is all thanks to the incredible team at SVSS. Me and my Tucker cannot thank you enough for everything ❤️

Snoop had been fighting a chronic ear infection for over a year. We started at primary care, escalated to a dermatologist and when it could not be treated any longer at these levels TECA (Total Ear Canal Ablation) ended up being the final step to mitigating this condition. Made calls all over the valley, a place in New Mexico and even a facility in Ft. Worth. When the staff answered the phone at the Peoria location, I knew we had found our place. They had not even given me the pricing yet when I knew this was the place. They answered the phone quickly, a really human answered! We all know this is not so common anymore. A friendly, courteous and professional voice. Then the price ended up being quite a bit lower than anyone else in the valley. Do not let the low price lead you to thinking the facility, staff or services are sub par, it is quite the opposite. We have visited many facilities and dealt with a lot of staff throughout this process. The Peoria location is the best!!! TECA is a complex surgery, not to be trusted to just any surgeon. Robert Newman, DVM is awesome. Snoop's surgery went perfect. His follow up appointments are done with great care and patience. Snoop is 78 pounds of hard to control dog, of course he is my sweet boy, but examining and treating him is not easy. His challenges were not a challenge for this staff. They make it look easy. If you have a family member in need of surgery, stop here and make an appointment. You will not beat the care or price making anymore phone calls.

In my opinion, the SVSS ( Peoria) is “the BEST “ place for vet services!!!!! Jaxon, our sheltie, who is 12, has doggie dementia & osteoarthritis. He already receives Librela injection’s monthly for the osteoarthritis——however, he started REALLY limping badly & laying down frequently on even a short walk🙁….. i was desperately fearing we would have to put him down. Needless to say, Dr Newman did a thorough examination ,along with X- rays & other diagnostics on Jaxon. He spent alot of time answering my many ?s & was kind, patient & understanding. He prescribed an anti inflammatory, pain reliever for dogs….. already we are seeing a positive effect on Jaxon!!!! The amount of compassion, kindness & care these folks have for not only our fur babies, but for the human “ parents” cannot be measured! Their mission to provide the BEST care for your pet a.k.a baby, is obvious. Highly recommended ❤️❤️❤️special thanks to Kristin, & front desk ladies who also deserve praise —-Brook, Kaitlyn, Sabrina—GRATEFUL to each of you❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Our dog aka baby needed ACL surgery. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciated the communication and feedback before and after the surgery. She is healing really well and we hope we don’t ever have to come back, but if we do Dr Dixon and the entire team made a very scary situation for us much better.

LATEST UPDATE: Sir Winston, our yellow tabby, has recovered completely after both of his hip surgeries last year. It has been almost a full year now, and Winston is back to doing his zoomies, jumping and in general just being a great kitten and doing what kittens do. The biggest thing he has learned in his very young years is the countertops are off limits. Again we want to thank the surgeons and support staff at Southwest Veterinary Surgical Services in Peoria. You people are the absolute best in care for all the pets. Sir Winston thanks you immensely. UPDATE: Just received a text message checking how Sir Winston is doing after have two surgeries, both on his hips that broke(genetic problem). His first hip broke in the middle of May and here it is mid July and Lori was checking up on how Sir Winston's recovery was going. We have never had a veterinary service ever provide services like we have received from Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service, PC. These people are super and outstanding in all their caring of pets. I spoke with Heather who is the manager of this this facility and express my appreciation of her staff about there concerns and caring of our Sir Winston, all we can say THANK YOU !!! Either May 17th or May 18th, our big tabby Sir Winston broke his right hip after breaking his left hip a couple months ago. I immediately called South West Veterinary Surgical Services in Peoria asking for the on call doctor to call me back. It wasn’t 15 minutes and the doctor called and I explained everything to her on the phone and she immediately setup an appointment for Sir Winston on May 19th for us see Dr. Newman who had don’t Sir Winston’s prior surgery. After consultation with Dr. Newman, we were advised that Sir Winston would go into surgery the same day. Later that day we received a phone call informing us that Sir Winston had an uneventful surgery and was in recovery wide awake. We also got regular updates as to his condition later that evening and the next day. Sir Winston came home the morning of May 21st and has been doing exceptional with his recovery. We definitely want to thank Dr. Newman and the rest of the staff who oversaw Sir Winston in surgery and recovery for their professionalism and upfront honesty. Our first bill from a couple months ago was $4087.00 and the second one was approximately $3300.00, so Sir Winston has a value of almost $8000.00 but will be able to live a normal life and he is only 2 years old. If any of you pet owners ever need surgery for your pet, go to South West Veterinary Surgical Services in Peoria. They are the absolutely the BEST. If I could leave a 10 star rating I would. My wife and I thank the staff for their kindness, especially Bri, she sent us updates regularly with pics. Highly recommend this surgical center for your pets.
